Balloons and Playstation

April 12, 2026 — Day 18

White Tank Mountain Regional Park, Waddell, AZ

We woke up to balloons! We see balloons at lot a White Tank. It is a Phoenix thing to do, ride around in balloons at sunrise. I guess I-10, “the 10” to the locals is just so bad people take to the skies. But we had never seen so many. Lots of them. Curiously, Paul took pictures of balloons, Susan took pictures of the sky. (susan here; nothing curious about that. I love big sky and the southwest delivers that everywhere I look!)

And Susan shot the sky. We’re constantly amazed that we can be standing near each other, see the same scene and are drawn to different things at the same time. We’re each aware of what the other sees though.

We’ve been talking about gaming device for awhile. We need something for entertainment instead of watching YouTube videos especially when we don’t have Internet. But we wanted to make sure it worked on Clifford’s overly complicated entertainment system. So we borrowed his daughter’s Playstation 5, aka PS5.

It worked!

April 13, 2026 — Day 19

We bought one the next day. Here we are playing It Takes Two, a “co-op” where you have two people trying to win, not beat each other, but beat the game. You play split screen, with one person looking at the left and one person looking at the right. Here, Paul is just about to walk into the running band saw blade just because he can.
