May 27, 2026  — Day 64 Rifle Gap State Park, Rifle CO It is a bit of an embarrassment, but we both thought we were going to be camping in Rifle Falls State Park, not Rifle Gap State Park. And that’s ok, they’re just a few miles apart. Rifle Falls is really tiny and supposed to be hard to secure a site. So we were pleased when we made the reservation. May 26, 2026  — Day 63 Rifle Gap State Park, Rifle CO We didn’t do any sightseeing today, just life maintenance. First up? Off to town. Of course we admired the colors of lake. (susan here: and those trees with their fresh spring green leaves!) Then off on adventure. First stop was an auto parts store. When we left Moab we gassed up and Paul left the gas cap there. May 25, 2026  — Day 62 Sun Outdoors Canyonlands, Moab UT — Rifle Gap State Park, Rifle CO Today we leave Moab. Really, we do! You might not be counting days, and we haven’t been, but it seems like we’ve been here forever. We spent a week sick, then a week having fun, and the days blur together. We can’t even remember how many times we’ve re-upped the reservation here. But today we leave Moab for real! May 22, 2026  — Day 59 Sun Outdoors Canyonlands, Moab UT May 24, 2026  — Day 61 Sun Outdoors Canyonlands, Moab UT Yes, nothing happened. We were still recovering from that virus and this is a really a great problem to have, but having so much fun can be tiring. So we didn’t do anything on the 22nd and we repeated that on the 24th!

May 23, 2026  — Day 60 Sun Outdoors Canyonlands, Moab UT We set out to drive the Potash Road once again. We learned from our mistake and this time we had a full tank of gas! We’ll skip over the parts you’ve already seen. In case you’re wondering, we didn’t try the climb for the dinosaur tracks again! Last time we were here at this spot we turned around. May 21, 2026  — Day 58 Sun Outdoors Canyonlands, Moab UT Paul’s been thinking about getting an Electric Mountain Bike. He loves his “acoustic” bike. But, as we age, well the hills get steeper. He also been thinking of a “full suspension” bike. This is the kind that has front and rear shocks. So, he rented one to make sure he liked it. (Susan here: Honestly?
